Welcome to the work of Natalie Chan, an artist whose practice brings together ceramics, illustration, and tarot. Originally from Taiwan, she moved to the United States to study Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating, she settled in New York City and began her creative career in photography, working at a fine art printing lab in Manhattan, where she developed a strong foundation in visual detail and craft. During this time, she founded Bat Haus, a creative space in Brooklyn that became a hub for artists and gatherings. Alongside running Bat Haus, she developed her ceramics practice, known for detailed surface patterns and functional pieces often created for weddings, events, and custom orders. Her interest in symbolism and inner work led her to illustration and the creation of a hand-drawn, black and white tarot deck, reflecting a quiet and intuitive approach to storytelling. Across all mediums, her work remains grounded in the same intention: to create objects and experiences that feel personal, thoughtful, and connected to everyday life.
